Handmade gold bracelet

Features two 24k gold beans strung with palm fiber. Using the pre-columbian technique of cera perdida, a mold was created from a live bean, filled with bronze, and then bathed in gold. Lengths vary from 15 -17cm.

Artist: Byxan was created by Xandra Uribe, a creative naturalist of Colombia. She also founded Frijolatorio, a project in which she harvests, preserves, and catalogues rare heirloom seeds. Read more about her work in the featured Vogue article below!

Region: Antioquia & Caquetá

Care: Avoid getting it wet and clean by rubbing it with a soft towel with dry baking soda.

Artisans harvest and dry cane leaves, and then stain them with natural vegetable dyes like clay, spinach seeds, and turmeric.

Then strands are handwoven into baskets, hats, and other household pieces.
